    Rakhi Day Special

Posted on by Amrit Ammu in Indian Festivals | 2 Comments

Share: It’s Rakhi Day – The Rakshabandhan (An indian festival which celebrates the bond between a brother & sister, wherein the sister ties a sacred thread on her brother’s wrist, while the brother promises to protect his sister and take care of her at all times in return) It is a very sacred festival I believe, as it is meant to strengthen the bond between brothers & sisters. They may be siblings or even cousins 🙂 This day every year, I tie a Rakhi to Harnoor’s wrist and I always fondly wait for this festival for various reasons altogether. He is a gem in my life. This post, I am dedicating to him as he is one sole reason why I am able to celebrate this festival with so much zeal. Second reason of course being that I much adore him 🙂 giggle* Okay I will write a quick interpretation …

Share: With the sunny side up, I would like to thank all the dear ones who blessed me to keep going ahead. I am lucky enough to seek all your blessings on the way 🙂 Thank you everybody… I have no words to describe how much your wishes mean to me. It was a day to remember and after a very long time, I could actually see myself sitting relaxed, smiling and embracing the moment .. just all of it as much as I could. Okay, actually there are some news that I want to be sharing with you all, through this post.. Last week I did two coffee-table books for my respective clients and though I shall take a separate post to share those images across, but the good news is this that I have now successfully tied up with the best digital print-service company of India for coffee-table-books and more. …

    Rain beyond rain..

Posted on by Amrit Ammu in Story through my lens | No Comments

Share: Monsoon as always, bought all the life alive this year. Not only there was joy and awesomeness all over but the loving monsoon season also bought a lot of relief to the people especially in north India, who were being roasted at 50 degrees celcius and more. The previous post has all the fun that I could capture around during this amazing season. This releif however, was only temporary and soon we heard about the devastating effects of the monsoon during the later part of the last week. Monsoon rains had caused the flash floods and landslides in Uttrakhand which took away the life of so many people, while several went missing. My heartfelt condolences with all those who suffered this havoc 🙁  TV channels are still broadcasting the live news of so many people and apartments which have toppled into the rushing, swallowing waters of the Ganges, the India’s …

Posted on by Amrit Ammu in Story through my lens | No Comments

Share: Being soaked alone is cold. Being soaked with your best friend is an adventure. – Emily Wing Smith The refreshing monsoon time is here… It is that time of the year… where we can just feel those pitter patter rain drops falling on our faces and getting soaked up in our clothes.. The time… where we can just re memorize those beautiful childhood days, when we sailed our paper boats on the sides of the road.. And the time… where probably u can feel just nothing, but the BEST !! And add to this.. how else can we get a fantastic climate, as awesome as this … !!!? “I am certainly loving it” ! The click below was shot during the rain.. The view is of our home garden. Green being washed away all fresh and happy 🙂 The beautiful scenes that I witnessed can hardly be described but …

    On the occasion of Ugadi

Posted on by Amrit Ammu in Story through my lens | 10 Comments

Share: (The photographs in this post are © Amrit Ammu Photography)  This post is dated April 10th, 2013. Last evening in the city of Nawabs, Hyderabad, when I was travelling from Banjara Hills to Mehdipatnam, I noticed a lot of shops being beautifully decorated with flowers, lights and colors. The huge posters outside these shops were also speaking of some special discounts for their customers. I was trying to recollect if some occasion was around.. And soon I saw some boards that answered my thoughts.. It was Ugadi the day after ! On reaching my college hostel, I started searching about the festival and came to know that Ugadi which means “The beginning of a new age” marks the New Year’s Day for the people of the Deccan region of India, according to the Indian Calendar. Basically the New Year’s Day is celebrated throughout India, However it is named differently in different states. This festival …

    Beginning : Behind the Scenes

Posted on by Amrit Ammu in Journey - Life on the go | 7 Comments

Share: Welcome to this space of my thoughts, my canvas.. I had been in the City of Nawabs, Hyderabad, for 2 years.. and the whole idea of my blogging and photography journey started taking shape while I was pursuing my MBA at IBS Hyderabad. These two years helped me to learn, grow and share my creativity to an extent that I have now developed a confidence to take it to another level. I am on my way to live my dream and for that, I feel there has been a lot of connect between Hyderabad, completion of my masters degree and the beginning of my new journey altogether. Since I have marked a launch to my Blog, I wanted to start  it with a post that would have a mix of all these elements intact. So I have chosen my first blog-post to be on Ugadi and I will be posting …
